On this week's episode of The Couch GM's, the guys introduced their early top 20 fantasy QBs for 2021. Each Couch GM made their rankings and this was their consensus.
There is usually depth to be found at the QB position in fantasy and this year is no different. Having new stars like Trevor Lawrence and even solid fantasy starters in the past like Carson Wentz down in 16th and 17th in the rankings with the potential to break out and be top 10 fantasy QB's in 2021 shows that taking the early QB is not necessary to building a good squad.
A few players that were not in the consensus top 20 that are worth noting are Deshaun Watson and Justin Fields. Watson was 20th on Tyler's rankings and despite his legal troubles and the rumors that he wants out of Houston, we know that if it all works out that he plays in 2021, he will definitely outplay that 20th ranking. Justin Fields was 18th on Tyler's rankings and 20th on George's. Fields is a boom or bust rookie who may not start week 1, but we expect to be a big contributor once he gets on the field. We will learn more about his week 1 status before fantasy redrafts occur this summer, so be sure to watch for Fields name.
