Another week, another shot at the waiver wire. There are a lot of good options again this week, so let’s get into it!
NYG RB Devontae Booker (0.6% Owned)
Yet again, Saquon Barkley went down with an injury. That injury was diagnosed as a low ankle sprain, and an ugly one at that, that will probably force him to miss a week or 2. In that time, Booker becomes a weapon to own and maybe even start in fantasy. The Giants are banged up on offense and that could effect the RBs production, but he should see all the volume he needs to be an effective starter until Barkley returns to the lineup.
FAAB Bid Suggestion: $15
KC RB Darrel Williams (1.8% Owned)
Similar to Booker, Williams makes the column thanks to a starting RB injury. Clyde Edwards-Helaire went down with a painful looking knee injury on Sunday night that will probably force him to miss time. The severity of the injury is unknown as of now, but I will update you when more news comes out. In the interim, Williams should see plenty of work at the RB position and he has been an effective back in the past. He could be someone to start for you until the return of CEH.
FAAB Bid Suggestion: $20
NE RB Rhamondre Stevenson (0.6% Owned)
Stevenson is a bit of a speculative add after his 11 carry showing in week 5. While it was not an effective looking stat line, Stevenson had a long TD called back due to penalty, and he has a chance to be the lead back in New England with Damien Harris dealing with injuries and fumbling issues. Don’t get too excited about Stevenson yet, we know Belitricks are tough to figure out, but Stevenson is our best shot as of now.
FAAB Bid Suggestion: $5
NYG WR Kadarius Toney (3.1% Owned)
Toney did a little of everything on Sunday. Saw 13 targets, almost eclipsed 200 receiving yards, was ejected for punching a Cowboys defender, and got x-rays on his leg. You might be asking why he is on this column after those last 2 items, but it’s really just because of the first 2. Toney saw a huge uptick in usage over the last 2 weeks thanks to a lot of Giants WR injuries and I believe that with his production he will stick as a focal point of that offense, making him someone to own in fantasy. Back to the injury though, the x-ray was believed to be precautionary, but we will have to watch injury reports this week to see his status going forward.
FAAB Bid Suggestion: $10
NE TE Hunter Henry (16.9% Owned)
A lot to like here from Hunter Henry moving forward. 1. He is quickly emerging as the lead TE option in New England over Jonnu Smith. He saw 8 targets in week 5 while putting up his 2nd straight 10+ point fantasy day. 2. Redzone usage. We were worried about which of these tight ends would get the work by the goal line. While that was Smith early this season and he is still getting redzone looks, Henry is now getting some too and it appears that these 2 are the Patriots top 2 redzone weapons. 3. His upcoming schedule is very favorable. He doesn’t have a negative matchup for TEs until week 12. That is 7 weeks away! Add Henry to the TE dart board for sure.
FAAB Bid Suggestion: $10
JAX TE Dan Arnold (0.6% Owned)
Another TE to add to the dart board is certainly Dan Arnold. Arnold was traded to Jacksonville with the impression that he would be a big part of this offense and so far, that has been the case. Just 2 weeks into learning this playbook, Arnold received 8 targets and put up an 8 point half-PPR day against one of the best defenses against TEs in the Titans. I expect even more growth from Arnold in the coming weeks and you will want to get him before someone else takes him from you.
FAAB Bid Suggestion: $5
