Week 13 was filled with injuries and week 14 is filled with byes? Sounds like the waiver wire could be an important asset heading into the final week of the fantasy regular season! Let's check out some of the best adds to get you to the playoffs!
BAL QB Tyler Huntley (0.1% Owned)
The Ravens offense struggled in a tough matchup against the Broncos, but Tyler Huntley looked solid filling in for an injured Lamar Jackson despite only leading them to just 10 points in the win. The nice thing about Huntley is his rushing ability. That combined with the Ravens run heavy scheme makes him a solid fill in for as much time as Lamar misses.
BUF RB James Cook (16.6% Owned)
James Cook actually led the Bills in rushing attempts in week 13, finishing with 14 carries and 6 receptions. It is a bit of a sketchy proposition relying on a Bills RB in a committee, but the Bills seem to be running the ball more as of late as they try to protect the ball. They also are using Cook in the passing game which is a huge boost to his Half-PPR and PPR value. Cooks workload has been slowly raising for the last few weeks, so before he really booms, he is worth an add.
SEA RB Travis Homer (0.2% Owned)
Kenneth Walker went down with an injury in week 13 and this makes for a very intriguing backfield shakeup. If Walker misses time, there are 3 potential backs who could see an uptick. Tony Jones (only totally healthy option), DeeJay Dallas (led the Seahawks in touches and yards in week 13 but was a little banged up), and Travis Homer (missed week 13 with an illness). Homer has operated as the primary backup behind Walker for most of the season, so I expect him to be the starter if Walker misses time, but that is something to keep an eye on.
LAR RB Cam Akers (49.7% Owned)
I know, I know, the Rams are a mess. If you read this post last week, that is exactly how I started Kyren Williams breakdown, but its still true. I dont get why the usage switched this way, but apparently the cut of Darrell Henderson made Akers usable by the Rams again? He touched the ball 18 times. Other backs combined for 3 (All Kyren Williams). That kind of usage makes him a must own and someone who could be started if you are desperate, but I am still trying to avoid Rams as much as I can.
DAL WR Michael Gallup (20.8% Owned)
Dallas’ offense looks to be really hitting a groove after a 33 point 4th quarter against the Colts. There are a lot of mouths to feed, sure. Theres the 2 headed RB room of Zeke and Pollard, the favorite audio medium of the 2000’s in CeeDee Lamb, one of the few TEs we can trust, Dalton Schultz, but Gallup actually tied for the Cowboys lead in targets with 7. He also got redzone targets which never hurts also. He will probably be an up and down option, but I expect the Cowboys to use him down the stretch and they have a few good matchups coming up.
DEN TE Greg Dulcich (28.8% Owned)
Rookie TE Greg Dulcich had a rare occurrence in week 13. He had a top 10, fantasy relevant day WITHOUT a TD! He scored 11.5 Half-PPR points catching 6 of 8 targets. The TE position is not great as you probably know, so a TE getting 8 targets is significant and gives him even a better chance than most to get those much needed TE TDs.
