Can you believe that the fantasy playoffs are only 3 weeks away! Also, if it hasn’t happened yet, fantasy trade deadlines are this week! Even if you missed your leagues trade deadline, you can still improve your team on the waiver wire!

As the playoff near, it is not a bad idea to look at some handcuffs for your top end backs. I will have a few on the column this week to give you a few ideas to look at. Adding handcuffs could help beat the waiver rush later, and make sure you do not get stuck with a backup who might get you 3 points if an injury occurs.

Handcuffs to look for:

MIN RB Alexander Mattison (24.3% Owned)

BUF RB James Cook (15.3% Owned)

CAR RB Chuba Hubbard (13.6% Owned)

IND RB Deon Jackson (7.5% Owned)

LAC RB Isaiah Spiller (0.3% Owned)

NYG RB Matt Breida (0.1% Owned)

TEN RB Dontrell Hilliard (2.0% Owned)

DEN RB Latavius Murray (11.8% Owned)

Murray is now the starting RB in Denver thanks to them waiving Melvin Gordon on Monday. Murray was already a decent fantasy option on his limited touches in his short time in Denver, averaging about 10 points per game. He also is now coming into a positive matchup vs Carolina, so he can crack your lineups right away.

TB RB Rachaad White (28.5% Owned)

Rachaad White drew the start and saw his biggest workload of the season before the Buccaneers bye week. I had a lot of kickback about this adds viability last week, but even if Fournette plays this week, White is etching out a role in the Bucs offense. If he is available in your league, add him before its too late!

BAL WR Demarcus Robinson (0.2% Owned)

With Bateman out for the season, we have been wondering who will step up in the WR room for Baltimore. Devin Duvernay seemed to be the leader in the clubhouse, and he will have his games, but Demarcus Robinson entered the chat this week. Robinson caught all 9 of his targets for 128 yards. Baltimores passing offense will naturally be up and down, but

CLE WR Donovan Peoples-Jones (28.5% Owned)

DPJ has never been a great looking play, but we have to see the perspective here. Peoples-Jones has 10+ half-PPR points in each of his last 3 games, and that is with Jacoby Brissett at QB. Deshaun Watson comes back from suspension in week 13 and we expect a boost from that passing offense. Peoples-Jones could be a beneficiary of that return and be a flex option down the stretch.

TEN WR Treylon Burks (20.6% Owned)

Burks has had a disappointing start to his rookie year, but he looks to finally be healthy. Thursday night in Green Bay, Burks gathered 7 of 8 targets for 111 yards and was officially the one Titans WR who actually can do WR things. If he can keep it up and stay healthy, he could be someone you can flex going forward.

NO TE Juwan Johnson (11.7% Owned)

The latest of the TEs who are trying to save us all from the great TE extinction, Juwan Johnson isn’t playing a ton of snaps, he isn’t the top target on his team, but man does he score TDs. He has scored 1 or more TDs in 4 of the last 5 weeks. With no TEs left healthy besides Kelce and Andrews, that kind of production is huge to get an edge on your league.

Washington Commanders DST (16.4% Owned)

I expected this defense to be more owned after a matchup with Houston, but they are not and they are coming off of 16 and 21 point weeks to play the Falcons. The Commanders are on a roll the last 4 weeks and their defense should continue this in this matchup.
