The last week of 16 games for a while. Let’s get your fantasy football lineups ready for week 5 with some Start/Sit suggestions at each position. This list will exclude the every-week lineup starters, like Patrick Mahomes, CMC, Mark Andrews, etc. Let’s get into it.
"STARTS" OF THE WEEK: QB
Jared Goff vs New England Patriots
As highlighted during the waiver wire podcast early this week. (If you missed it check it out here) The lions are the highest-scoring offense while allowing the most points, aka the perfect mix for fantasy. It also helps the Patriots are allowing an average of 20.45 points to Fantasy QBs this season.
Derrick Carr vs Kansas City Chiefs
The Raiders got their first win and are now set to face the Kansas City Chiefs. Their matchups typically are high-scoring, and the Chiefs are currently giving up on average 18+ fantasy points per game to Quarterbacks.
Carson Wentz vs Tennessee Titans
Now I am worried that the Titans' D-Line might be too much for Washington to handle. However, if they can give Wentz time the Titans are ranked 26th against fantasy QBs and he could be in line for another big day.
"SITS" OF THE WEEK: QB
Matt Stafford vs Dallas Cowboys
Is it a Super Bowl hangover or is the elbow a bigger deal than is being said? Through 4 weeks Stafford ranks QB25 for fantasy and faces the tough Dallas Defense this week. He is not a great option this week.
Trevor Lawerence vs Houston
Did Trevor regress or were the conditions of last week's game the bigger reason for his 5 turnover performance? Hopefully the latter but it is still tough to put him back in your lineup against the Texans, who rank 8th against fantasy QBs.
Aaron Rodgers vs New York Giants
The Giants are a surprise team this year as they are currently 3-1. They are just outside the Top 10 against Fantasy QBs. Also, the packers haven’t played a complete game on offense all season. With the extra travel included to play in London, I would look elsewhere.
"STARTS" OF THE WEEK: RB
Devin Singletary vs Pittsburgh Steelers
I think we can finally trust a Buffalo Bills running back. He has been consistently getting yard through the air and on the ground. And this is your grandparents' Steelers' defense as they are currently ranked 25th against fantasy running backs.
Miles Sanders vs Arizona Cardinals
Miles Sanders has been impressive to start the season. It should continue this week as the Eagles take on the Cardinals and their 23rd rank against fantasy Running backs.
Damien Harris/Rhamondre Stevenson vs Detroit Lions
It’s been mentioned before the Lions are ranked at 32 scoring defense. They are also 31st against fantasy running backs. That makes make both Patriot running backs viable options this week.

Ezekiel Elliot vs Los Angeles Rams
Zeke is facing the #1 team against running backs and he only has 1 game the year over 10pts. This is not a week he should be in your starting lineup.
Darrell Henderson vs Dallas Cowboys
In the same matchup as above, the Rams running backs have a tough matchup. It also appears the split is starting for favor Akers. If that trend continues it would be hard to start Henderson.
Chase Edmonds vs New York Jets
Chase is another running back who started the season and has the starter, but his backup has eaten into his opportunities. Edmonds is still getting red zone work and dropped a touchdown this past m week. That’s the issue he is Touchdown dependent and not a great play this week.
"STARTS" OF THE WEEK: WR
Chris Olave vs Seattle Seahawks
We now have 2 weeks of Cooper with 100+ yards and touchdowns. This week is another positive matchup for Cooper as the falcons rank 29th, so he can stay in your lineup.
Chris Godwin vs Atlanta Falcons
Godwin had 10 targets in his return to action in week 4. Bearing no setbacks and he is on the field this week too, he should be in your lineup against the falcons, who are currently ranked 26th against fantasy WRs.
Gabe Davis vs Pittsburgh Steelers
A positive matchup for Davis this week. Steelers are currently ranked 27th against fantasy Wide receivers. The Bills should be in for a big week so you will want to play Davis. Bonus: You can play McKenzie too with Crowder out with injury.
"SITS" OF THE WEEK: WR
DJ Moore vs San Francisco 49ers
DJ Moore has been disappointing this fantasy season. Honestly, you could say the Panthers as a whole. This week against the 49ers is not the week to hope it starts to turn around.
Tyler Lockett vs New Orleans Saints
Tyler Lockett had a big game in the Seahawks' 48-45 victory in week 3. It will be a hard time to repeat it the week against a top 10 defensive for fantasy WRs.
Jerry Jeudy vs Indianapolis Colts
Not a great Thursday night matchup for Jeudy this week. The colts are currently ranked 4th against fantasy Wide Receivers. Plus, Russell Wilson is dealing with a little bit of injury. I expected him to go, but would still sit Jeudy. With the Steeler's offense struggling right now and playing a Top 10 team against fantasy WRs. Playing their #2 wide receiver doesn’t make sense this week.
"STARTS" OF THE WEEK: TE
Tyler Conklin vs Miami Dolphins
Conklin is currently ranked as TE9 and faces the Dolphins. Miami is currently ranked 27th against tight end in fantasy; which makes Conklin a solid option this week.
Evan Engram vs Jacksonville Jaguars
Evan Engram has not been a top fantasy tight end this season, but ifI you want to play a matchup, or looking for a readily available steamer, Engram could be your guy.
Gerald Evertt vs Cleveland Browns
The Browns have been good against fantasy TEs, but Everett has been a top option for Herbert in Keenan Allen’s absence. It doesn’t sound like Allen is returning this week, so you can keep Everett in your lineup.
"SITS" OF THE WEEK: TE
Pat Freiermuth vs Buffalo Bills
If you listened to our podcast on Tuesday. You heard that we think Friemuth might be the biggest benefactor from the QB change. Just not this week as the Bills are currently ranked 2nd verse fantasy tight ends.
Dalton Schultz vs Los Angeles Rams
After the goose egg, Shultz laid last week you probably didn’t want to start him this week anyways. The Rams are currently the #1 team against fantasy tight ends so you should look elsewhere.
"STARTS" OF THE WEEK: DST
Cowboys DST vs Washington Commanders
After what we saw last week, you have to start the Cowboys on the number of sack opportunities Micah Parsons and the rest of the cowboys will have.
Giants DST vs Chicago Bears
Has there been a worst offense than the Bears through 3 weeks? Justin Fields hasn’t had a game with more than 8 completions. Also has less than 300 passing yards on the season. So the Giants should be a solid streaming option.
"SITS" OF THE WEEK: DST
Philadelphia DST vs Arizona Cardinals
The Eagles are currently ranked as the #2 DST. It’s a tough match verse the Cardinals who can put up points, but you can keep the Eagles in your lineup.
Tennessee DST vs Washington Commanders
It was alluded to above. There is potential the Titan's D-line tees off on the Commanders' O-line and those sack points add up quickly.
