There was a lot of player movement surrounding the NFL draft, and that means a big impact on the fantasy football landscape. Which players took a dive? Which ones got a boost? Let's take a look at a few!
Stock Up
TEN WR Robert Woods
Woods was the first beneficiary of a trade on draft night that now makes him the #1 WR in Tennessee. He will be paired with promising rookie Treylon Burks, but being the experience WR gives him an edge to get more targets. Do not overreact though, while this is a stock up, Woods stock is still not as high as it was a year ago.
ARI WR Marquise Brown
Hollywood was shockingly moved on draft night to the Arizona Cardinals and this is a great fit for the young WR. Now he gets to play with close friend Kyler Murray on a more pass heavy offense, across from DeAndre Hopkins (eventually, after his suspension). Expect a lot of big shots down the field to Brown this season, especially in Hopkins absence.
BAL WR Rashad Bateman
With Hollywood Brown moving to the Arizona Cardinals, Baltimore has a winner as well in Bateman. The young possession receiver was already carving a role in the offense with Brown there, but now there are targets to be had for the guy who seems to just get first downs. My only concern with Bateman is he is on a run heavy offense and is next to another possession guy in TE Mark Andrews, but there definitely has to be an uptick in targets for the 2nd year receiver coming this season.
Stock Down
PHI WR AJ Brown
The Eagles made a big splash getting AJ Brown in exchange for draft picks and it definitely helps their team, but not necessarily AJ. Yes, he should be the #1 target on Philly's offense, but the passing TD and maybe even passing yards numbers may take a tumble unless we see a major improvement out of QB Jalen Hurts. He should be far from a fantasy bust, but is likely not the 2nd round WR we drafted last season.
NYJ RB Michael Carter
The Jets went out in the draft ready to improve their offense, and part of that plan included adding another RB to the fold in Kenneth Walker. Carter was really working into becoming a RB2-3 in fantasy by the end of last season, but now we are looking at a potential messy running back by committee in NY.
BUF RB Devin Singletary
Similarly to Carter, Singletary was also breaking out late last season, and he also watched draft night as his team took a RB. The Bills selected James Cook. Cook is a passing down back who will probably play a complimentary role in the offense, but we will still see a hit in snaps for Singletary. Someone who was already a wishy washy RB will get even more sketchy heading into draft season.
