On episode 35 of The Couch GM's Podcast, in the spirit of the NFL Draft coming to a close, the boys conducted a Dynasty Rookie Mock Draft. The results are all right here!

There were a few interesting picks in this draft. First, TE Kyle Pitts going at pick 2. It is absolutely unheard of to hear a tight end go this high in dynasty drafts, but Pitts lines up to be a different monster.

Another is the lack of RB's going in the first round of this draft. Outside of Pittsburgh RB Najee Harris, there are just no clear workhorse RB's in this class of rookies. There are a few that could make some noise in fantasy in the future like Travis Etienne, Javante Williams, Trey Sermon, and even potentially New York Jets rookie Michael Carter, but there is just so much more value at WR.

Finally, there will be a debate all offseason about who the top fantasy QB's are in this rookie class. Trevor Lawrence was the consensus #1 pick heading into the draft for NFL teams and the first QB off the board in our mock draft because he is viewed as the safe pick, but that does not necessarily make him a lock to be the best fantasy QB in the class. Trey Lance is an intriguing option because of his mobility and this landing spot with coach Kyle Shanahan in San Francisco which made him the second QB off the board in the first round, but buyer beware, if you need a QB to start right away, Lance might not be your guy. Zach Wilson and Justin Fields both could be starters Week 1 next season and are also in the consideration of borderline first/second round dynasty picks.
